Madame de Montesson
Madame de Montesson (Charlotte Jeanne Béraud; 4 October 1738– 6 Februar 1806) wis a mistress (luvor o Louis Philippe d'Orléans, Duke o Orléans[2] an later his secret wife. The Hôtel de Montesson wis biggit for her, but wis destroyed bi fire in 1810. She wis also an aunt o Madame de Genlis.

Born in Paris an baptised as Charlotte Jeanne Béraud de La Haye de Riou she wis kent as Charlotte. She wis the anly dochter o Jean Béraud de La Haye de Riou an his wife Josefa Minard. The faimily war o Breton origin. In her early twenties she wad mairy Jean Baptiste de Montesson, Marquis o Montesson in October 1757. Montesson wis a widower in his seventies. The Marquis o Montesson wad die in 1769. Efter the daith o her elder brither the Marquis o La Haye de Riou, she inherited a smaw fortune an wad later acome a mistress o the Duke o Orléans. The couple wad eventually mairy in secret in 23 Aprile 1773 wi the authorisation o Keeng Louis XV. The king ordered that Madame de Montesson wad never acome the Duchess o Orléans. Sometime efter thair mairiage the Hôtel de Montesson wis biggit an Montesson wad die thare in 1806 haein spent a smaw period o time in the Temple Prison in Paris during the French Revolution. She wis buried at the Saint Roch Kirk, in Paris.
