Madame de Montespan (5 October 1640[1][2] – 27 Mey 1707) wis a member o the French coort an wis the offeecial chief mistress o King Louis XIV o Fraunce. They had several childer thegither. She wis also a sister o the Maréchal de Vivonne. She wis also a lady-in-waiting tae Princess Henrietta o Ingland, Duchess o Orléans, "Madame" along with Louise de La Vallière. She owned the Château de Clagny.

Early life an mairiageEedit

Born Françoise de Rochechouart in Lussac-les-Châteaux, Fraunce, she wis a dochter o Gabriel de Rochechouart, Duke o Mortemart an Diane de Grandseigne. She wis the third o five childer. The Hoose o Rochechouart were a well-known an highly regarded family. Eventually Françoise would mairy Louis Henri de Pardaillan, "Marquis o Montespan"[3] in Februar 1663. As a result o this Françoise would be known as Madame de Montespan as a result. The couple would have twa bairn thegither.
