Louis Henry Sullivan (September 3, 1856 – Aprile 14, 1924)[1] wis an American airchitect, an haes been cried the "faither o skyscrapers"[2] an "faither o modrenism".[3]

Accordin tae Robert Twombly, Louis Sullivan – His Life and Work (Elizabeth Sifton Books, New York City, 1986), his birth certificate read Henry Louis Sullivan, awtho he wis cried Louis Henry. Sullivan helped propagate confuision ower his middle name as well bi annooncin, in his beuk Autobiography of an Idea, which he wrote at the end o his life, at a time when professional failur an alcohol mey hae cloudit his juidgment, that he haed been named Louis Henri efter his grandfaither Henri List. The latter spelling was in turn enshrined bi the designers o his funerary monument (see pictur in text).
