Giovanni Boccaccio (/bˈkɑːiˌ, -, bə-/; Italian: [dʒoˈvanni bokˈkattʃo]; 1313 – 21 December 1375)[1] wis an Italian writer, poet, correspondent o Petrarch, an an important Renaissance humanist.
