An anchor is a device, normally made o metal, uised tae connect a vessel tae the bed o a bouk o watter tae prevent the craft frae driftin due tae wind or current. The wird derives frae Laitin ancora, which itsel comes frae the Greek ἄγκυρα (ankura).[1][2]
