Wake Island (/ˈwek/; kent as Wake Atoll an aa) is a coral atoll wi a coastline o 12 mile (19 km) juist north o the Marshall Islands. It is an unorganized, unincorporatit territory o the Unitit States, admeenistered bi the Office of Insular Affairs, U.S. Depairtment o the Interior. Thare aboot 150 fowk stayin on its 2.85 square mile. Access tae the island is restrictit, an aw activities on the island is managed bi the Unitit States Air Force. Thare is a missile facility operatit bi the Unitit States Airmy an aa. The lairgest island, Wake Island, is the centre o activity on the atoll an is the location o Wake Island Airfield (IATA: AWKICAO: PWAK), which haes a 9,800-foot (3,000 m) rinway.
