Shaghur or Shagor (Hebrew: שגור‎‎; Arabic: الشاغور‎, ash-Shaghur) wis an Arab ceety in the North Destrict o Israel locatit east o the coastal ceety o Acre (Akka). It wis formit in 2003 wi the merger o three Arab local cooncilsMajd al-Krum, Deir al-Asad an Bi'ina. It wis declared a ceety in 2005. The ceety wis dissolvit on 1 December 2008 bi Knesset decree an the pre-2003 component veelages wur gien unthrilt staundin. It wis the third lairgest Arab locality in the North Destrict efter Nazareth an Shefa-'Amr. The name Shaghur comes frae the name o the nearby valley which borders the al-Araas muntain in which the ceety wis built upon. The ceety haed a population o 29,900 at the end o 2007.[1]
