The toun haes a population o 27,344 (28 Februar 2023)[2] an covers an aurie o 2,354.24 square kilometre (908.98 sq mi) of which 1,206.47 km2 (465.82 sq mi) is watter.[1] The population density is 23.83 inhabitants per square kilometre (61.7/sq mi).

The name o the new toun is based on the Castle o Raseborg locatit in Ekenäs, or umwhile in the municipality o Snappertuna. Historically the name o the coonty wis Raseborg in the 14t century an aw.

The toun is bilingual, wi majority (66.2%) being Swadish an minority (31%) Finnish speakers.

In Februar 2011, Raseborg Municipality entered intae a "Friendship Co-operation Agreement" wi Makana Municipality in Sooth Africae. The project, which is tae last three years, seeks tae facilitate information sharin in the fields o economic development, airts & cultur, weemen development, youth development, an education.[7]
