Perico is a municipality an ceety in the Matanzas Province o Cuba. It is locatit sooth o Marti, north o Colón an east o Jovellanos.

The municipality is dividit intae the barrios o Altamisal, Norte, Quintana, Roque, Sur an Tinguaro.[1]
It wis foondit in 1874[1] near a garrison o the Spainyie colonial ceevil guard. The name wis chyngit in 1885 tae Miguel de Cervantes, then restored tae Perico in 1899.
