The destrict is locatitd in the east an the sooth o the ceety Munich, maistly coverin the moraine plain aroond Munich. In the sooth o the destrict the fuithills o the Alps start, which contain the heichest elevation o the destrict an aw, twa hills 703 m abuin sea level in the municipality Schäftlarn. The lawest elevation wi 471 m is near Unterschleißheim in the north o the destrict. The main river is the Isar, which flows throu the ceety o Munich an aw.
