Deutsch: „Das Stadtwappen zeigt im unteren Teil einen weißen Dreiberg mit dem roten bergischen Löwen. Darüber steht auf blauem Grund der Erzengel Michael mit goldenem Heiligenschein und weißen Flügeln, weißem Gewand und rotem Mantel. Der Mantel wird durch eine goldene Mantelschließe mit blauem Edelstein zusammengehalten. Das Zepter in der rechten Hand ist golden, der Reichsapfel in der linken Hand blau mit goldenem Kreuz. Über dem Wappenschild befindet sich eine goldene Mauerkrone.“ Michael steht auf einem Berg als wachsende Gestalt und weist auf den Ursprung und Lage der Stadt, das Kloster auf dem Michaelsberg hin. Der Löwe ist Symbol des Herzogtums Berg und weist auf die frühere politische Zugehörigkeit von Siegburg hin. Die Grafen von Berg waren Vögte der Abtei Michaelsberg.
English: „The city received city rights in the early 13th century. The oldest seals show until 1430 a walled city. Later St. Anno, the patron saint appears on the seals. All later great seals show either a city or the saint. Smaller seals (ad causas) show St. Michael, the patron saint of the mighty abbey of Siegburg, behind the arms of the Counts of Berg, a lion. Since 1558 the small shield was replaced by a mountain and a (free)lion. This seal was used for the present arms, which were granted in new and more defined colours in 1947.“
