Euphorbia is a genus o flouerin plants belangin tae the faimily Euphorbiaceae. Euphorbia antiquorum is the type species for the genus Euphorbia;[3] it wis describit bi Carl Linnaeus in 1753 in Species Plantarum. The faimily is primarily foond in the tropical an subtropical regions o Africae an the Americas, but an aa in temperate zones warldwide. Succulent species oreeginate maistly frae Africae, the Americas an Madagascar. Thare exists a wide range o insular species: on the Hawaiian Islands, whaur spurges are collectively kent as "akoko",[4] an on the Canary Islands as "tabaibas".[5][6]
