The Daihatsu Copen is a 2-door roadster wi an aluminium retractable hardtop biggit bi the Japanese caur company Daihatsu. It first debuted at the 1999 Tokyo Motor Show, as the Daihatsu Copen concept. In twa years, the OFC-1 wis an aa completit as a precursor tae the Copen, based on Daihatsu's front-wheel-drive licht-caur platform.

The Copen wis oreeginally designed wi a 660 cc turbocharged ingine in order tae meet Japanese kei caur regulations. Houever, it nae langer meets environmental emissions standards in several ither kintras, an sae in thir markets the Copen is fittit wi a mair pouerful 1.3 L ingine.
At the 2005 Frankfurt Motor Show, Daihatsu revealed twa new trim levels o the Copen, the 1.3l an the 'ZZ'.
