The Bolívar Municipality, accordin tae a 2007 population estimate bi the Naitional Institute o Statistics o Venezuelae, haes a population o 47,878 (up frae 40,863 in 2000). This amunts tae 6.3% of the state's population.[3] The municipality's population density is 45.7 inhabitants per square kilometre (118/sq mi).[4]
Govrenment eedit
The mayor o the Bolívar Municipality is Iván Dario Maldonado, electit on 31 October 2004 wi 49% o the vote.[5] He replacit Alberto Melean shortly after the elections.[6] The municipality is dividit intae three pairishes; Barinitas, Altamira, an Calderas.[2]
