Balkanabat
Balkanabat (Балканабат, بلخان آباد), formerly Nebit Dag, is a ceety in wastren Turkmenistan, an the caipital o Balkan Province. It is locatit at 39°31′0″N 54°22′0″E / 39.51667°N 54.36667°E, at an altitude o 17 meters, some 400 kilometers frae Ashgabat. As o 2006, the ceety haed an estimatit population o 87,822.[1] Balkanabat lees at the fuit o the Balkan Daglary mountain range. Balkanabat is aboot a fower-oor taxi ride wast o Ashgabat an a twa-oor taxi ride east o the port ceety o Turkmenbashi.
